Bleak times ahead for jobs and health

The Chancellor Rishi Sunak could not have been more explicit when unveiling the Government's new emergency jobs support scheme: "I cannot save every business, I cannot save every job." As he rightly pointed out, some jobs exist only because of furlough and the support given by the Government, and are likely to disappear when the aid is withdrawn next month. From then on it will be those who can demonstrate they are the most viable who will benefit from the new funding.
