BBC's Hosts EU Debate Becoming Shouting Match

On Monday, the BBC tried to host a television debate about the quickly approaching vote on whether or not Britain should leave the EU.

But the debate turned out so poorly that moderator Victoria Derbyshire ended up apologizing.

The people actually debating the issue were not the problem, however.

Instead, the audience was shouting so loudly, one viewer said they felt like they were watching an episode of the "Jeremy Kyle" show.

Pro-EU audience members shouted down those speaking in favor of leaving the Union.

On the other hand, audience members who wanted to leave screamed "tell the truth" to a woman explaining the benefits of remaining in the EU.

If nothing else, the debate managed to capture how deeply and passionately fractured voters are over the issue.
