Accused WI kidnapper pleads guilty to murder

A Wisconsin man accused of abducting a young girl after murdering her parents pleaded guilty in Barron, Wisconsin on Wednesday to murder and kidnapping charges.

Accused WI kidnapper pleads guilty to murder

(SOUNDBITE) (English) ACCUSED MURDERER JAKE PATTERSON, SAYING: "Guilty." A tearful Jake Patterson, accused of killing the parents of 13-year-old Jayme Closs and then abducting her, pleaded guilty to murder and kidnapping charges on Wednesday.

The killings and abduction took place in Barron, Wisconsin on October 15th of last year.

NAT SOUND, PATTERSON CRYING Patterson could face life in prison.

Patterson allegedly held the teenager inside his home, confining her under his bed for up to 12 hours at a time.

(SOUNDBITE) JEANNE NUTTER, DOG WALKER WHO FOUND JAYME, SAYING: "We wrapped her in a blanket." Closs was found alive soon after escaping from captivity three months later.

Her disappearance made national news, with 1,500 volunteers scouring woods and fields.

Patterson was taken into custody after authorities pulled his car over with the help of Closs who gave them a description of his vehicle.

Patterson will be sentenced on May 24th.
