Suicide Rate Among US Young People Continues to Rise New research conducted by associates of Harvard Medical School and published in the medical journal JAMA, found the rate of deaths by suicide in 2017 among 18-24 year olds was the highest since 2000.

According to data, young men between the ages of 20 and 24 showed the highest increase in rate.

Researchers suggest that future studies "should examine possible contributing factors and attempt to develop prevention measures." Researchers are uncertain as to the causes of the increase.
