Trump Administration Wants To Cut Number Of Resettled Refugees

The Trump administration wants to cut the number of refugees allowed to resettle in the U.S. According to Reuters, they want the number for the 2020 fiscal year to be cut to 18,000 refugees.

The number is the lowest in the history of the modern refugee program.

At the same time, President Donald Trump also issued an executive order regarding resettlement.

He said they would seek approval of state and local governments to resettle refugees in their communities.
