New information... today - we learned a convicted killer who escaped work release was less than a month away from a parole hearing!

How daniel miner escaped work release...and how was he on work release to begin with.

I also sent several open record requests to the department of corrections to learn more about miner's time in prison.

I have not received one answer from anyone with the department of corrections.

The only comment i received was the department is working on my request.

Miner was convicted of killing edward williams during a robbery in albertville.

The marshall county sheriff's office did tell me miner was sentenced to life in prison with the opportunity for parole and that hearing was just a few weeks away.

Since miner was on work release and up for parole, does that mean he was considered a "well-behaved" inmate?

I asked the department of correction that question and don't have an answer.

Right now, the agency isn't releasing his prison records.

I did learn he was currently serving his sentence at childersburg facility which is used mostly for prisoners on work release.

Right now, investigators across the state are on the lookout for him.

People in marshall county are particularly concerned because he still has family here.
