This morning, we're working to learn more about why a convicted marshall county murderer was on work release when he escaped 6 days ago.

Right now, law enforcement across the state is looking for this man, daniel miner.

We took our concerns to the state's top cop -- attorney general steve marshall.

We asked the attorney general why so many inmates like miner, manage to escape work release.

He didn't have a concrete answer, but did hint that change could be coming.

Marshall admitted inmates escaping from work release is an issue.

Over the weekend, daniel miner escaped from a work release center in alpine, alabama.

And just this week, another escaped inmate was caught.

I know the governors office likewise would have an interest in that.

And beyond it we want to make sure situations like this don't happen again we continue to ask the department of corrections why miner was considered for the work release program as a convicted murderer.
