Dr. Ed Lowe, DMD, discusses your options for teeth whitening.
Teeth Whitening at The Dentist
Whitening is kind of obvious, it's something to brighten your teeth with, and there's three different processes that you can do it.
You can buy over-the-counter product, and they're all peroxide based.
You can have the dentist make you take home trays, where you put the gel in and you wear it anywhere from 7 to 14 days overnight.
And the third process is an in-office process called Zoom, where you would come into the office, and the dentist professionally applies the gel, isolates your teeth puts a light on it to enhance it, and it takes anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours, to get a much more intense result in one sitting.
Now the tip for whitening is, anytime you finish whitening or whitening procedure.
You can't have coffee, red sauce or red wine for about a week, or you'll darken the teeth again.
