With schools closed, some kids might not know where their lunch is coming from

Coronavirus with the shutting of schools across the country á parents are left trying to figure out not only how to keep their kids educated á but also fed.

Kimt news 3's alex jirgens is finding out how families are preparing.

School districts across the country including right here in iowa are trying to find ways to be able to feed their students during this time of uncertainty.

For junior ethan fields á having a meal at school during the day is very important.

"gotta find lunch myself when there's no school."

Mason city school district is coming together to provide sack lunches for all of its students to eat á no matter the age.

"craisins, yogurt, cereal, sandwich, milk and applesauce... get you going through the day."

Roosevelt principal dan arjes spent his morning helping to hand out lunches.

"we went through 75 bag lunches at roosevelt in 30 minutes.

That's excellent.

We love to see the resources being utilized and we want everybody to know that if you have a need, let us know, come on out.

We want to be available for you."

The district tells me that depending upon the response á they may add more pick up sites.

"we're all going through this together right now, and really trying to help provide do you have questions about the coronavirus that you're having a hard time finding the answer to?
