>> is welcome bax, and we just chaptered with yoga and meditation instructor, who says that keeping the mind and body well is the health to overall well being, and we welcome back is stephanie hodges, founder of nurse principles, on how to eat well with limited resources, and stephanie, it's great to see you.

I love the display that you provided for us.

>> thank you for having me.

I know this is a little bit of a different format than we're used to, but i'm happy to be back and share tips.

>> it's all for our own good, but put a selection out there that looks strangely like what i have hanging out in my pantry so let's talk about the fact that a lot of people are heeding the advice to stay home, so grocery runs are few and far between, and we have a lot of stuff at home hopefully to sustain us for several days, and what are some of the things that we should have to hopefully make several meals out of it.

>> that's w with me today, a display of staple items for your pantry, and these are things that can get us through this time now, and also things that you can have in your pantry for weeks and months to come, when you find yourself in a pinch to make that dinner on a week night.

I have some of my favorite items and great ideas.

So the first ever, oats, oats are a great thing that can you whip up quickly, over night oats, regular oatmeal, baked oatmeal and they can go in a lot of different dishes which i love, and another great item is beans and lentils.

So if we've been to the grocery store lately, maybe there are not a lot of meat proteins available.

But these are great ways to get in different proteins and a lot of beans and lentils.

You can do nachos, tacos, stews and sounds, anything like that so they can go in a lot of different dishes as well.

And then also we have pasta.

I think everybody -- i went to the store yesterday.

And i think everybody is grabbing pasta.

So if you can get some whole grain pasta to get extra fiber in, but just having it on hand with canned tomatoes, and any kind of canned fish, tune a.

Salmon, tase great option, and then we always reach for the nut butters.

Peanut, almond burt, whatever it may be is also a great item.

And the great thing about all of these, they're going to last for longer than two weeks, longer than two months.

So have them on hand.

>> and they're all very inexpensive items. and going back to the pasta for a second, a lot of people are finding empty shelves in a lot of stores, but pasta one of those things, if you have is egg and water and flour, you could in theory make your own pasta, so what about 23 people it take time out of their day and look actresspies, and even if you don't have a pasta machine, you can make something with the simplest ingredients for a tasty and filling meal?

>> my recommendation, a lot of us, whatever is convenient and easy for your families so, if that is what you want to do, come up with an activity for your kids, and come up with items in the pantry, what can we make with this?

That makes it fun, and then think is about utilizing our online producers.

You can type in google, i have pasta and lemon, and i've seen a lot of creative ideas using what people have, and people are cooking more, and it's something that makes us feel normal dur this crazy time.

>> this might sound sack logs considering what we're talking about, i've done that with a cocktail generating website.

Five different liquors on hand, yet i don't know how to make cocktails other than stand byeses, and poof, you come up with them and the same is true for food.

Do you have any websites that you recommend?

Can anybody go to your website or facebook page?

>> yes.

I'm happy to push people toward those resources.

I usually just do google because there are so many great food blogs and recipes.

>> thank you so much, stephanie.

And those are wonderful principles to live by, and i think that everybody request come out
