Like many universities across the country, the u of o is trying something new -- teaching an entire term completely remote.

But, schools officials say students will get the same education -- as they would in a classroom.

In a town hall this afternoon, they addressed a lot of questions... from tuition --to commencement -- to the structure of spring quarter.

They say all courses will accessible during their normal class times remotely.

Sessions will be recorded so students who can't log on, can access lectures later.

And, they've launched a number of websites -- so students have more resources.

We hope that all of you are able to succeed this quarter.

We know we are going to do everything possible to make that happen in our remote education.

And one thing i do want to do is anyone who has issues that they need help with please reach out to us.

There were a lot of questions about tuition.

President michael schill says they won't offer discounted tuition.

He says in order to provide a top tier education... the school has to charge full price.

Not everything on campus will be closed to students.

The university says the health center is still open, weekdays.

There is also a 24--7 nurse hotline students can call.

And, if students are having mental health concerns, there are counselors available by phone... at all times.
