Former Housing and Urban Development Secretary and 2020 candidate Julián Castro told Cheddar Tuesday now is the time to protect Americans struggling to pay rent and take care of Americans experiencing homelessness.
“Right now is a time where we need resources and we need creativity in policy making,” he said.
Castro said he applauded communities “that have partnered with the private sector to put homeless people up in hotels that right now are sitting empty.”
