Grand opening of Civic Park delayed

Kidsports said the construction of phase one will be complete at the end of April on schedule.

Even though the grand opening of civic park has been delayed... it will be open as soon as its safe so the eugene community can enjoy more days like these in the future.

Kids sports says construction is on schedule and phase one of civic park will be complete by the end of the month.

The grand opening was going to includ a lane united soccer game but they have canceled their season.

Bev smith says when civic park does open, it will be a place where the community can reconnect and heal after the pandemic is over.

Once we get to the other side we really need to have a celebration because this community cares for each other and right now is playing for each other by staying home and that is a grate way to get us back quicker to celebrating this facility.

Smith says opening day will be an opportunity for kids sports to showcase the new programs at the facility... while also showing the community how their sports programs will adapt to covid-19.

Smith says she can wait for the community to enjoy what is being built behind the fences.

I know i cant wait to be able to enjoy civic park... and really all out door activities on sunny days like today.
