Two high school rivals in Howard County are coming together for a great cause.

Hebron boys lacrosseteam hosts its Fight for 5tournament.

An annual tourneyin memory of Vikings alum EvanNicholson, who passed awayfrom Leukemia in 2008 at age20.

The tournament raisesmoney for the Leukemia andLymphoma Society.

But thisisnCompetitive sports are onhold.

Hebron SeniorCaptain: Everyone is missingout on sports or any hobbiesthat they have.

So, we werejust trying to make somethingapplicable to everybody.

Thisyear instead of suiting up onthe field theyonline.

Mike McCarthy, Mt.Hebron Head Coach: I wanted togive our kids, initially, anopportunity to work togethertoward something they willremember.

The Suit upchallenge is pretty simple.Suit up in the gear from thesport or hobby that you miss,put it on social media, thennominate three people tothe same.

The Vikings andEagles are competing to seewhich team can get the mostpeople to participate.

Anddonate the most amount ofmoney.

McCarthy: Us being suchgreat rivals over the past 50years, we thought it would begreat for the two programs tocompete to raise money for agreat cause.

That cause is theZaching Against CancerFoundation, a no━profitstarted by Centennial gradZach Lederer and named afterhis famous, viral’Zachingpose.

That picture of Zachflexing as he battled braincancer.

The disease whichultimately took his lifeage 20 in 2014.

Ken Senisi,Centennial Head Coach: I feltlike he was here for a reason.He really just cared about andmade an impact on everybody.Zachthe foundation.

Julia Lederer,cancer patients go, COVI━19is very real and to now havethese funds coming in thatthese guys are raising, isabsolutely unbelievable.

As oftonight Hebron is beatingCentennial on the fundraisingleaderboard.

But Eagles SeniorConnor Carpenter is feeling acomeback brewing.

Carpenter:They got a head start on us,so we kind of had to have alittle catch up.

Brown: Yeah,we started the challenge inthat we kind of got a littlehead start.

Wewinning by about double so farright now, I think.

But at theend of the day itcause and Icoming together.

Each time ateam hits a monetarybenchmark, one of the playersor coaches shaves their heads.Eventually both teams willmerge to take the challengenational.

To keep suiting upfor Zach and Evan.

Stepner:What do you think Zach wouldthink of what his former highschool and rival are doing tohelp?

Julia Lederer: He wouldbe beyond proud, especially ofthese boys.

Him and Evan bothwould be so proud of them.
