Plan the dade county and into a parts of the chattooga county and the walker county as well and that you folks in marion yo have some of flooding issues in the courts layer seeing another big pocket heavy rain and now that's pushing in the hamilton county so this can be a period of about 30 to 45 minutes where i would be some rise if we have some significant flash flooding with this outline of shower and under storm activity doesn't look to be severe especially unless a north of the tennessee line but the rainfall totals are very very press of and the were to continue see that add up as rainfall totals unfortunately have been even more press of a crossnore georgia and you have the added iges factor of severe weather potential this could be greater essay from dade county down through fort payne and across his these areas that have been affected for so widening out this is the main line is can be passing through over the nex hour to two hours your thinking behind this was all over well not just yet as they the upper level disturbance or the main area continues to press on to the east hopefully these shower and storms will weaken as we move through the overnight hour but we may have to contend with one more pencil thin line of showers and stronger storms but i will worry about that later of greater and more immediate concern will be the showers and thunderstorms and i'll go ahead and put on our titan radar to show you the last little view, point out some different areas and when you're in the effect did as a obviously from let's say dayton on a reduced sale creek probably just north of saudi on top of the plateau i see on top of walden ridge down near walden and back into the heart of the squat you valley from a whipple down through the south it's for in jasper and especially to jackson county season very heavy intense rain and the leading edge of this up squall line right here by producing some wins of between 40 and 50 miles an hour and obviously right here in the warned area free have the tornado warning just outside albertville tracking on to the north needs to run around 40 to 50 miles an hour that some ing that could be a concern for you folks and range will and eventually the work pain but the big, a segment of thunderstorm activity right here to go ahead and put in the a lightning see if there is a lot of lightning in as i suspected there is a lot of lightning with this in that we continue to be the case as the storms continue to discuss read out and push on to the east so if you live in town top assam mountain chances are you're about to get a light show and the a big guy of big series of downpours and some strong gusty winds stay indoors the winds will be gusty and obviously there could be some downed trees and some downed power lines more the same for dade county southern hamilton southern marion and on overthrew chattooga county and into the county with this area right here this appears to be the most intense as that's going to be probably the worst part of this line segment with the exception of the rotation that's in this thunderstorm right here so as w head into the next of us a 30 t 45 minutes what we can expect is this line of very intense rain and write ahead of it strong gusty winds between a let's say about 4050 maybe 55 miles an hour long a lot of lightning and rainfall totals tween about an inch and 2 inches in our as can be pressing on into chattanooga so obviously i the five your thinking about having a go do something really quick do not do it because this is not the time to do it becaus obviously the press of your weather still around but probably what could be even more dangerous in the nighttime is rising waters very rapidly and this is a system that we've artie had a 234 inch rain foundation in the last six hours with a quick inch inch and a half of rain with this could produce flooding just in a matter of minutes so obviously stay off the roads and less it' a real real real urgent emergent as these are very powerful thunderstorms like the lightning and stretching always from fort payne to marion county as it sweeps on to the east the will be packing up punch was left of the big under storm over polk county is now moving off i the hill country so your still getting rain at the threat severe weather has a dated at least temporarily dalton more heavier downpours and strokes a lightning but not the supercell coverage that we had over the last four hours so now the main action will be this line stretching from dayton on overthrew sale creek and back just north of saudi balcony across the a walden's ridge and now through the heart of the amerian county through jasper and dunlap and perhaps down in to us out its burg as well and now a lot of the real heaviest rain i toured bridgeport and we be moving alice a on top of the mountain near brian probably in the next 10 minutes and the southern end of the storm is now pushing through birmingham this will eventually press on to the north and east so it's not just moving straight east it's moving kind of east northeast and that's gonna prolong our rainfall totals for a little bi longer so we probably will not the improvement until after midnight tonight when it comes to the rainfall especially for chattanooga eastward so if you live from monteagle honors to the plateau back in the jackson county or is he a break in the rain as we had to the next 4050 minutes then you have that may have it last line to deal with but still from chattanooga eastward and some of these areas that have really been prone to flooding of the last six hours would have to deal with this and perhaps some of these individua thunderstorms that are without mainline that will continue for the next hour to two hours and if you have rainfall totals in an hour to two hours of an inch to 2 inches chances are your flash flooding issues are going to get worse instead of better and of some of you party has pretty bad flash flooding we had damaged our view the damage a little bit now as the we put the radar on its current i will scan i take a look at the watches and warnings in see if there's anything new we still have the existing tornado warnings that are out from areas to the south and west of fort payne in rainsville there you see everything that you see in green these are flash flood warnings that are all in a stretching all the way from huntsville to northern fannin county south river just outside of rome as i this is a huge area this artie see a lot of flash flooding would not be said rises the flash flooding either flash flood earnings get extended in the southeastern tenant see as we head into the next 30 to 40 minutes without mainline as i was speaking i want to go and show you some of the initial storm reports and working a lot more these coming in but look at some of these are really starting to fill into north georgia we've had another confirmed touchdown tornado i think that was one of cisco will probably have another one over into parts of a southern polk county were long horsemen cited the one trying to just about 8 miles south of benton trying to garcia coley and other new flash flood warning that's for sequatchie county so that we thought some more these flash flood warnings would extend the northward into a southeast tennessee announced the watchin county i anticipate the dominoes fall marion and hamilton probably you'll be under those flash flood warnings as well but when you had review some of these storm reports as this is what happened over the last 345 hours earlier this afternoon we were tracking a line and some supercell's stretching from southwestern mississippi on overthrew middle parts of alabama and eventually the nort- central alabama the storms really started to develop just north of harming him and that was the first of a series of supercell under storms that pushed from northeast alabama around work pain eventually on top of a lookout mountain in over the top through a chattooga county southern a walker county into whitfield murray counties as well as polk county we had probably three or four of those individuals supercell's that moved nearly over the same area so were to see a swath of damage probably within about a 10 to 15 mile radius where three or four individual thunderstorms that contained either strong damaging winds an or tornadoes touchdown and caused a lot of damage i stretching from i just outside of birmingham fort payne i threw trine and somerville's other an walker county into the dalton area where i want to go ahead and zoom in and check out this right here just outside of the eye between the alice say dalton and the econ and crandall looks like there's been a confirmed the touchdown here and see if i put my local storm report and i'll go and read the to you as a tornado is as of 946 about an hour ago likely tornado damage several structures and numerous trees down along a path so looks like over a just to the west of econ that has been confirmed to see the new flash flood warning about the us of what she counted as part of southeastern tennessee that will continue to be warned as it is line of showers and thunderstorms with the torrential rains continue to make their way through the area so that is the confirmation just to the west of the time that's the third confirmation we have probably there's gonna be a couple or three more before all is said and done as a unfortunately a very violent night i continues across the tennessee valley especially across north georgia and east of i 75 in southeastern tennessee where probably there's going to be another little of a tornado touchdown icon here over parts of polk county and maybe another one or two your cisco and back into perhaps a chattooga county we do not have anything can except what we have indicated on on this map with the exception of the law enforcement reporting a tornado in polk county that will probably be included on this here just a matter of lots of wind damage lots of flooding some hail but hale has not been a big real story when it comes to this storm system going take this off and the i take a look at this line one more time as is now moving up send mountain going ahead a zoom in and take a look at a few spots of who may be affected which port you had some heavy torrential rains obviously jasper and south pittsburgh now this is coming up and over the send mountain areas so either on over the roof probably bryant and the crossroads appear not to get hit the heart and strong damaging winds especially on th leading edge of that and this will slip eventually and to the dade county side to send mountain and also into the valley hugging highway 11 and i 59 and eventually the i have your downpours that are in a parts of marion county will be moving on top of walden's ridge and ari some real heavy rains from a dayton on overthrew decatur and 10 mile rate in meigs county northern hamilton county from birchwood to sale creek the soddy daisy as i once again we do have that new set not severe thunderstorm warning new flash flood warning and put on the warnings and indicate that value folks over in the sequatchie county near dunlap has had that new flash flood warning and now that has been extended all the way through marion county through jasper we had those recent heavy rains see if that's warned there were talking about a tornado watch ... is still been extended in the jackson county that's because this last lines that might but all of these areas are now with flash flood warning so this area continues to expand this spring or irish type green which are indications of flash flood warnings and we have that line it's been a prompt probably mor flash flood warnings from hamilton on overthrew bradley county severe's thunderstorm warnings will be don't have any but we still have this tornado warning that's out and is not too far off from mom the county should be approaching rainsvill and fort payne probably over the next of 15 to 20 minutes severe thunderstorm warnings are to th south of that taking the warnings and watches off one more time i keep reviewing but i want to review see if there are any changes in the storm segmen itself squall line and yes there are some changes in see the changes that i've noted right there there's one line unfortunate there's a second area bowline and is third right there so this is indicating some strong winds out of this area and strong winds and some rotation right here just outside of sand mountain in another are that trying to rotate and that's gonna be a moving just north of gads ... so everything continues to move on to the east northeast see ho the last 23 pictures you will see two or three different segments one right there another one right here and another in right there that's that's disheartening because it tells me that at each of these low line segments the leading edge has some strong damaging when a real possibility that could be pushing into the surface on the leading edge of each of these lines that so few live right in advance of these line segments chances are you these wrong gusty winds that could cause and down trees and some power outages as this line continues to move on to the east see what else going on severe thunderstorm warning now for walker and dade county's and that's because of this was when talk about it all would stop th radar put on the new watching warning were getting close to a news 1211 righteous run into that or maybe take a brief rake and then get ready for news 121 but there you see the new sever thunderstorm a warning that has been issued for dade and walker and chattooga and parts of catoosa county that's with that line segments that has been a moving to the east and will continue to cross over into a parts of the north georgia and see how long this can be until 1130 low time this area right here until 11 or below time so the news time chances are written have severe weather heavy down horse some flash flooding and so what i will continue obviously to be weathe dominated at news 1211 but this is the latest i warning that were kind of dealing with across parts of north georgia this is not with an individual thunderstorm this is with the mainline now breaking off and three different segments to the segment there is reason why the us of your thunderstorm warning were issued because of this boeing or individual lines that there's a second line segment and there's a third line sect whenever these give you that configuration that is an indication of a some strong damaging winds at the leading edge of the some truong real damaging winds caused by the heavy torrential rains that are being pushed from elevation at about 5 to 8 at about 5 to 8000 feet this is kind of weather nerdy 5000 weather nerdy 5008 8000 feet in the atmosphere the winds are gusting as high as 7080 miles an hour and went the rain is dropping from that pushes some of that went down t the surface that's why the severe thunderstorm warnings have been issued here is a known severe thunderstorm for trenton severna thunderstorm for dade county one we tension also one for chattooga county and let's see if we still have the a tornado running out a parts of the northeast alabama approaching i rainsville and fort payne yes we still do that with that third line sect so that's kind of what we have to deal with and unfortunately is going to drop a lot of heavy rains to our eating these various titrated parts of north georgia in the northeast alabam now southeastern tennessee were everything that you see in spring green under flash flood warnings and they just probably will continue alloy through the overnight and if you're having to get up tomorrow morning pretty early chances are you have some water issues on your way to work so check and call ahead watch news 12 in the morning will have all the details on that i details of latebreaking details, throw it over to daniel after i did happen details about the storm damage to be reported which is all over the area and i can before it is coming in fairly quickly and there's about 1680 or homes without power in sequatchie county multiple reports of trees down and city and county road crews are there i'm trying to rescue in sequatchie county time that there have in multiple worth of trees down as well in that area and there has been an hour ago i'm many many trees and especially in the valley and that's what according to the then national weather service a well ford for georgette they are saying that they have not been firmed tornado and pulled county time but it's deftly a severe set thunderstorm with very high when i about 3 inches of rain on east of tunnel hill and will county as well i'm considerable damage to homes along halls valley drive and try on time they are saying is due to a likely tornado there and try on multiple multiple i'm whole homes and mobile homes damaged there i'm patrick you're gettin summer notifications about the warnings and watches as well yeah danielle just received the tornado warning that has an issue from a parson northeast alabama gonna see on the screen now this is extended in the age county and into a walker county this is that the line segment that we talked about heading up and over sand mountain so trenton obviously seek shelter from wildwood down the rise and fall up on lookout mountain as well and back into the chattanooga valley to camargo this is a really dangerous stor is this line segment continues to roll on to the ease pretty rapidly a lot of intense rain but right ahead of that intense rain arena see some real strong downburst winds and even the threat of a tornado dog ahead i read the statement is going tak a look at this radar in on the full side i'll try to read this information and kinda give you exactly what's going on very see notice there are some nodes or some notches indicating that there is some rotation with thi now as a moving up on top of sand mountain and there you see that first little notch the as it can occurs and curls its way that something that the were to be watching really carefully right here's a real cyst area of the kind of goes out all right around the state line probably is right on top of sam mountain start and try to push back into the valley so this is something as proprietor pretty dangerous storm right now as is probably about how i'd say 1012 minutes from trenton's is moving pretty fast but here's the information that we have see ... as the once again the award areas and dade also walker and also into a parts of chattooga county get that information right here as a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado located ove higdon and i near trenton moving at 35 miles for our obviously flying debris can be a real issue with this as a also wins gusting between 60 and 70 mph torrential down horse trees down power outages and the like as i once again spreading out the radar little bit of the reason while is concerned i saw two or three different lines that are warm on this main squall line and that gave me a reason to believe that these are in become severe and a half unfortunately as a mood from northeast alabama and the north georgia prompting tornado warnings for dade honor through walker and even into a parts of the catoosa county there is a the warning that you see right there can i continue to move pretty quickly between 35 and 40 miles per hou if you draw straight line from dan mountain to chickamauga this pry the path to warm as a that's the most likely area for the storm to move over the next 10 or 15 minutes and the obviously we still have severe thunderstorm warnings are aroun this as a straight line winds could be gusting between a 6070 miles for our also from albertville now to the east i still have that tornado worn area with that third line segment talking about so go ahead and take a look at this radar i like to put it motion this is only a motion for 30 minutes and kinda see the behavior of the squall line is a continues to press forward wherever you see the outline kinda get pushed out that's indicating some very strong winds if you see any nodes or notches at the leading end of these the thunderstorms of those are indicating perhaps some turning or some rotation when i comes the clouds that's the reason why we have the tornado warnings have been issued for dave the cow fast the storm is moving the leading edge now pushing right into trenton proper horizon font obviously in that near wildwood and eventually the northern extent of the storm is gonna be moving perhaps in the lookout valley and into western hamilton county hardy is an chattanooga we may see the northern end of the storm and wouldn't be surprised if severe thunderstorm warnings are not those of for him southern handling county as a weather could be quite rough there but the worst of it with that one line segment as you se it the most pushed and pushed early new severe thunderstorm warning for jackson in the cab county and that's with that the other lines admit here that wishing pretty fast to scottsboro and hollywood and that will push on to the southern end of sand mountain and obviously the last of these around albertville so three different areas one to three you think while this was not to bother us will eventually is going to get into a north georgia again from walker honors to southern day maybe northern chattooga and this will be probably central chattooga on overthrew parts of southern walker and into whitfield county's of danielle this is th main line but unfortunately is going to be producing some severe weather along with a heavy downpour's and serena have two big problems to deal with severe weather strong damaging winds possible tornadoes along with some flash flooding ... that's right patrick time i am seeing that there has been some more storm damage time in a conference tornado was located in trenton with the east about 40 miles an hour that it was at 1057 and there is a ingle famil
