500 bottles of sanitizers were given away in Fairpark Friday afternoon.

People don't have to hunt for hand sanitizer after a giveaway in downtown tupelo this afternoon... local businesses partnered up to make this event happen... w-t-v-a's kayla thompson joins us live with how the give away turned out and what they are planning to do next week... 500 bottles of sanitizer were given out today...and some people even decided to pay it forward... third:44-52 "we're good and we're safe!

The queen's reward meadery set up at fairpark to sell hand santizer...but weber marine, a louisiana based company and l.

Scott studios in tupelo...paid for the bottles to be donated to the community.... "he actually donated 1,000.

So, we gave 250 to the tupelo police department......and to 250 to the north mississippi postal workers, and they were prepared to pay for it and it was so much for to call them back and say its free and then today we got to do again for the general public.

Scott studios helped pass out bottles today... she and her fiance thought this was a great way to give back... "to give back and to help the meadery does a great job with all of this and last week we saw it in the local news and wanted to be a part of that."

Some people were already waiting in line for a few hours waiting to get their hands on a bottle of sanitizer... "well my wife sent me out here and we haven't been able to find any anywhere.

So she saw this on facebook and so i thought i would come by and get me a couple of bottles of it, me and rebel here."

And others were in fairpark to enjoy food truck friday... "we actually came for food truck friday and asked if i knew if they were giving it away and so we decided to wait around and take advantage of this awesome opportunity.

Many people in line didn't know the sanitizer was being given away for free ...but when they found out...they were appreciative... "it's nice.

I think it's so nice that they're giving it away for free.

They're blessing somebody."

Jery carter with the queen's reward meadery...says the city of tupelo has been a blessing to this operation... "the city has been such a great partner they've totally shut down this street to create a drive thru.

They've been so supportive and encouraging the mayor was even out here to help us pass it out."

The city of tupelo supported the event today but they will sponsor a hand sanitizer giveaway next friday at 3 p.m.
