Governor's drive clinic

This morning we're learning the fever and flu clinic at huntsville hospital is seeing a decline in patients.

Testing has dropped 70 percent since the clinic first opened waay 31's rodneya ross joins us live at the clinic on governors drive in huntsville.

Rodneya -- do we know how long the clinic will remain open now that the demand is dropping?

Right now -- the hospital tells us they will remain open as long as there is a need in the community -- but they will start scaling back on the number of employees at the site as demand decreases.

Hospital leaders tell us they collect data on the number of patients served each week and re-evaluate to determine the need.

Since the clinic opened a month ago -- more than two-thousand patients have been tested -- with less than 100 testing positive.

Tracy doughty - huntsville hospital "i think it's had a huge impact on our community and allow our people to get back to their normal lives.

We've seen about 2100 patients, there, 2100 patients, and about 75 or 80 positive patients, so we were able to get those patients quarantined fast and get them away from other folks" we also know eight-thousand patients have been tested across the whole hospital system.

The clinic here on governors drive is open monday through friday from nine a-m to five p-m.

Again -- we're told it will remain open as long as it's needed -- but staffing could be reduced if necessary.
