Tomorrow marks one month since governor kate brown issued her statewide stay at home order... and now some counties in our area are saying enough is enough.

Douglas and coos county comissioners& along with three other counties&are asking brown for permission to partially reopen some businesses.

Kezi 9 news reporter evita garza is live at the courthouse to break down why the leaders believe theye ready to go.

Renee get their way... then restaurants... hair salons and some other businesses could be reopen as early as saturday.

But they would still practice social distancing.

Comissioners say brown was in favor of a regional approach in reopening the economy if certain criteria was met.

Along with having very few covid cases in southwestern oregon& they say theye seen a decline in the number of tests adminstered.

And the number of people with symptoms have also decreased.

They also feel like they have enough tests and hospital spaceust in case they see another spike.
