Purplish Toes Could Be A Sign Of Coronavirus

Dermatologists are saying a person’s foot may show early signs of coronavirus.

Many asymptomatic people are reporting the presence of painful purplish lesions on their toes.

According to HuffPost, “COVID toes” are typically painful to touch and may have a hot burning sensation.

The Academy Of Dermatology has launched a registry in order to track the toe lesions.

The registry is designed to show if the lesions are a true indicator of COVID-19.

Some physicinas theorize the lesions are a sign the virus is causing inflammation in the body.

Others, however, think the virus is inflaming the walls of blood vessels, resulting in “vasculitis.” A third theory is that the lesions are caused by blood clots.
