Protestors are working hard to get some attention on their message for the government.

Take a look at our highway 52 live eye.

These protestors are on the pedestrian bridge holding signs and working to get the attention of passing motorists.

They speak out as another group in downtown rochester protest the extende?sta?

A?home order.

They want their communities back in business.

Kimt news 3's isabella basco joins us live to explain what they want.

And why they're so angry.

Isabell?

Amy... the protesters were circling downtown streets from south broadway to here... the government center.

And let me say... while i was here... protesters were loud... passionate and extremely confrontation al with their message... they also wanted to go to the mayor's office to encourage her to r?open.

The protests began around noon.

Protesters were also waving american flags and holding signs asking the governor to let minnesotans get back to work and to reopen schools.

You could feel the fervor... urgency and the passion of these protesters as they honked and waved.

One protester believes extending the sta?a?order isn't doing any good for "i work at a major grocery store, the social distancing, the sanitizing, all the han?

Washing has been very successful for us, and i believe it's just time that other businesses be able to come back.

We're all essential."

I did speak to a member of law enforcement.

He says they did amp up security during the protests but declined to tell me anything more.

Live in rochester ib kimt news 3.

Thanks isabella.

The governor also just made an announcement that certain no?critical businesses can return to work but they must implement a preparedness plan and get employees to work from home as much as possible.
