I miss my students.

This is a message you are hearing from a lot of teachers.

Christine it's an adjustment.

Working from home is a whole other adjustment for christine renfrew.

She is a 6th grade science teacher at hedrick middle school christine i teach a lot of labs, a lot of activities.

We had a whole garden curriculumn planned for 4th quarter labs are hands-on learning.

But that's not the biggest adjustment she is going through right now.

Christine i'm basically working off of my phone and holding zoom meetings off of cell pone data standing in the middle of a field.

This is her office.

She lives in a rural part of the rogue valley and does not have the strongest internet contection.

Christine twice a week to submit grades and attendence i have to take a drive into town to get better cell reception and connect with a hotspot that the district provided me.

And if it's raining she goes inside this goat shed to stay dry.

Christine it's been a challenge but i'm getting through it.

She says what she is doing is worth it for her students.

Christine i miss you i miss you all and if you need anything we are still here for you.

Renfrew says there are a lot of teachers doing what they can during this pandemic.

She did say the medford school district and the teachers are a team.

And together they are making it possible.
