Worker looks like during a pandemic.

Intro: one grubhub driver tells me being able to bring people food during this pandemic is the most rewarding feeling.

He says knowing he is saving people a trip to the grocery store or restaurant and dropping their food off right to their front door instead....makes him feel he is doing his part to protect the community.

"share hope and reassurance as opposed to this is my job and go home" kris dotson has been working for grub hub for about a year now.

He tells me aside from being able to feed families during this unsettling time...he is able to give them words of encouragement too.

He says people are more appreiciative than ever before to get food onto their tables.

"they're very appreciative they always text me stuff back like be safe and thank you so much for letting us stay home and try to stay healthy things like that" he tells me the demand for food delivery service is huge.

"under normal conditions i get about five every two hours so two to three a hour but now whats happening is it is nonstop...ill get a new one before i get to the next one" he says hes thankful to be working during this pandemic...despite the amount of drivers currently willing to work.

"i dont think we have enough drivers right now to deliver everything so they say well hey since youre going to kfc hit taco bell while youre there they're doubling up tripling even our orders" he tells me he would much rather pick up and drop off people's food for them....than have those people who are high at risk go out and potentially risk their lives.

Tag: hear which local restaurants are also offering delivery services during this time and why they say ordering from them will help keep them afloat all while staying safe.

I'll have that story for you during our special "western oregon strong" at 8:30.
