Successful emergency response childcare programs plan for future re-openings

Childcare after the pandemic.

Alicia says: the ymca says the transition has really been a community-wide effort and they've seen success with their emergency response program and now have plans in place to impliment re-opening procedures as soon as they're given the green light.

Programs are being offered throughout southern oregon.

Brad says: "there's a site location in phoenix, talent school district in medford and central point and eagle point even our partner ymcas in ashland in grants pass so schools kids stay in their home school district" local ymca's are doing their part to help continue education.

Kelsey says: "so we're helping them with their assignments now and their teacher meetings so their parents that are in the medical field and are working 12 hour shifts don't have to then go home and spend 3 hours working on homework with thier kids" children are in groups of 10 or less, which is something the y says will continue as things start to re-open.

Kelsey says: when this order is lifted we're going to continue with our small grouping and we're going to continue taking temperatures as any children or staff in the program we also have a series of questions that we ask and there is a plan in place to make that transition smooth.

Brad says: right now it's an emergency response and then there will be a drop in childcare response and then will be able to return to our traditional programming alicia says: you can donate to help fund your local ymca.
