The most updated coronavirus statistics in Oneida, Herkimer and Otsego counties.

Condolences on another loss of life to coronavirus...that brings the total to 17.

<change > the total cases since march 17th is now 400, with 12 new cases announced today.

<change > 26 people are hospitalized, 20 at mvhs, 3 at rome memorial and 3 outside the county.

159 people have recovered...4 more than yesterday.

In his press conference today...the county executive talked about which numbers will be in focus over a period of time in order to start phase one of repoening.

There's the hospitalization rate, making sure that number stays on a steady number or decline, the same with cases over a 15 day period, looking at previous periods, when we get closer to may 15th and back 15 days prior...so we could have some days of a double digit number but in the period of time less cases we could look to see to reopen.

Also one possible exposure in the county...on april 25, an oneida county resident who has tested positive for covid-19 was at hannaford on commercial drive in new hartford and the walgreens located on commercial drive in new hartford between 12 p.m.

And 2 p.m.

Risk is low to the public, just monitor until may 9th.

In herkimer county, for the second straight day...no new cases, so we stay at 78... <change > just one person hospitalized, and 56 have recovered...that's 8 more than yesterday...all good news.

In otsego county...there are 62 total cases...just one new case today.

That's only five in the last seven days.

<change > two people are hospitalized.

46 people have recovered....same as yesterday.... more dire economic
