Gridley cars ablaze

Cal Fire crews worked to put out a fire at an auto wrecking yard after several cars, tires, and miscellaneous items caught fire.

Out a fire at an auto wrecking yard after multiple cars, tires, and miscellaneuos items caught fire... firefighters putting out flames firefighters received a call close to six in the evening monday with reports of smoke and trees on fire off of liberty road and highway 99 in gridley... it took firefighters about an hour to put out the flames... it was very hard to control initially because fo the tire fire but once we got enough resources here we were able to control that fire cal fire is calling it the 'liberty fire'... fire captain john gaddy says this scene did not require any evacuations.

No structures were damaged.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation... shasta county water rescue
