Some tense moments at a local motel... with police ordering evacuations and going into a three hour stand-off with a suspect.

It all happned tuesday evening in chico - at the motel 6 on manzanita court.

Police negotiators say the man involved... refused order to come out of the room, fearing being sent to jail.

To diffuse the situation - officers stepped back from the standoff, just before 10:30.

Police are now seeking an arrest warrant for that suspect.

Redding investigators say officers pulled the couple over for an unreadable license plate.

A k-9 officer quickly sniffed out drugs.

Officers say they found 65 grams of meth which they say equals 650 doses of the drug.

Another man is facing charges of vandalism... after police say he smashed the windshields of several cars chico police arrested this man "justin zillyette"... at a car dealership on park avenue tuesday evening.

Investigators say zillyette was seen throwing rocks through the windshields, and damaging the hood of another car.

People in the midwest are bracing for what could be another day of heavy rains and flooding.

Tuesday....two dams ruptured in parts of michigan..... forcing emergency managers to call for mandatory evacuations.

The state's governor has declared an emergency in at least one county.

The flooding comes...after days of heavy rain saturated the great lakes region.

Today connecticut becomes the 50th state to allow some non- essential businesses to reopen.

After some delay, the c-d-c released a 60- page road map for reopening.

It includes recommendations that restaurants install barriers&buses close some seats&and schools close playgrounds and encourage students to wear masks.

### the president announced 16 billion dollars in direct relief for farmers and ranchers.

The payments are part of the coronavirus food relief initiative.

Another three billion dollars will be used for the farmers to families food box program people can sign up for the direct payments starting next week..

### the treasury department and the irs will start issuing stimulus payments through pre-paid debit cards instead of paper checks.

The economic impact payment cards will be sent to around four-million people who don't have their direct deposit information on file with the irs.
