Graduation speeches done virtually

Good evening, i'm hunter petroviak.

Thanks for joining us.fort wayne students are emptying out their lockers for the year, but some students are returning to finish one more thing before they graduate.unlike any other graduation... preparing speeches they've been working for...their whole life.

Fox 55's chris mullooly is live outside northrop high school.

So chris... what are schools doing to prepare?much of the work they can do virtually... they're doing exactly that... which means speeches.your salutatorian and valedictorian speeches you'd usually hear live during a graduation.... now recorded.one of the many ways things have changed.

?nats?its not your average assignment...giving a speech in front of your friends... family... classmates.the takes were easier i could do it as much as i wanta valedictorian speech.

By northrop's manuel lopez this year....had a much smaller crowdit was easier saying it and recording it but addressing the issue without being too concerning was the main issueit wasn't just his speech dealing with the pandemic...his grades too.

Lopez like every other student having to balance school and sports... got a third challenge this year.but he says it didn't stop him.if i'm being honest with myself yeah thats cause i'm trying to get to a certain standardand it didn't come without its own problems?nats??nats?but thats the beauty of it...it didn't have to be perfect...?nats?

Just like the end of his senior year...baseball thats my other half of my lfie without sports... and a full on graduation... lopez says he didn't doubt himself...when he moved i had to hold down the spot and it drove me moresoon with high school in the rearview mirror?nats?and onto the next phase.not thinking bout other people but what i could do reporting live ... ?????????
