INVESTIGATION INTO BEEF PRICES

Extremely high meat prices during the coronavirus pandemic.

Take a trip to the super- market and expect to see beef costing you more -- that's if there is any on the shelves at all.

During the health crisis --- consumers are paying more --- but meat processing plants -- are paying ranchers*less.

Beef producers have seen a significant drop in the price of their cattle -- and the justice and ag - departments want to know why grassley says: "when you have 3 or 4 packers, uh, killing about, uh, 75 percent of all the beef in the country, there are reasons to raise questions whether or not the market place is working."

The beef industry is pushing for legislation that would increase transparency in cattle pricing.
