Migrant workers staged a protest at Bypass road in Amritsar after claiming that the train they were supposed to board to return to their hometowns got cancelled at last moment.
A migrant, Pulkit said, "Yesterday, our health screening was done.
We boarded a bus also, but were told that our train has been cancelled.
We are forced to stay on road now.
We request government to send us home".
Thousands of migrants have taken roads despite special trains being run to ferry them back to their hometowns.
