We discuss ways to help keep kids engaged while staying indoors.

>>> if you have kids at home, you know it has not been the easiest to entertain them.

Joining us do here today we'll hear more.

Welcome.

Tell us about your experience at home.

I'm curious if you can tell us a little bit about maybe what you're finding to be creative with those kids.

>> we do a lot of outdoor time.

We sing or walk.

We definitely try to be out in springtime.

We make things, having experiments, making a mess.

>> i bet.

Tell us, today we're going to be talking about how to manage the creative process with a child under five.

Can you talk to us about that.

>> yeah.

Sure.

Finding new way to do things, building the imagination, nurturing their creative, and put items in front of your child and just kind of see.

It's okay to have a little mess.

Everything can be cleaned up.

Maybe get some dirt and sand and have hands-on practice.

Join in with your child with those activities.

Ask questions.

What does it feel?

Like?

>> that sounds exciting.

We have to get them kind of thinking since they have not been in school maybe.

But my question for you how have parents and teachers, how are they dealing with coronavirus?

Obviously you're not going into homes now.

Is that correct?

>> right now we're doing virtual visits.

It's a little more challenging.

They can get a little distracted.

It's been beneficial.

The parents will be there and do the activities with us.

We have an opportunity to talk to them.

It's a new process that we're all learning and.

>> one last question.

Are you guys encouraging parents to stay close to home or do you give out advice like that?

>> staying close to home and just use the area that you have to use.

Going for walks around the block, you know, doing an outdoor scavenger hunt, you know, maybe it fun.

Do things that help the creative juices and the process that it brings.

>> and social distancing.

Good to see you.

Can't wait too see you in person again.

Take care for now.

>> thank you.
