Governor beshear has submitted a declaration of intent letter to the federal government to reinstate kynect... he says it will begin on january 1-st, 20- 22.

About 500-thousand people were enrolled in medicaid coverage and qualified health plans when it was first enacted.

Governor beshear says by reinstating kynect..

The state can save money.

"we can reduce the cost of pemiums to kentuckians, if we go back to a state based exchange, we can also improve efficiancies, and we believe we'll be albe to offer more opportunities to kentuckians."

According to the governor..

The reinstated system would also integrate with medicaid, offering a single door to access coverage... and greater flexibility than the federal system.
