DACA Ruling reaction

La Paz leader reacts to the Supreme Court ruling today on DACA and immigration.

More than 600 thousand young immigrants retain their temporary legal status.

This, after the supreme court denied the trump administration's attempt to dismantle the deferred action for childhood arrivals program.

Daca was established in 2012 by the obama administration.

It allows immigrants who moved into the states before 2007 to renew their temporary status every two years.

Daca is a great program.

I'm very happy with the news today and it's a great win for the community and the immigrant community.

However we know that there's more work that needs to be done and part of that is providing a clearer path to citizenship.

Daca only provides citizenship status on an individual basis, not family groups.
