Claudia Tenney is ahead in the race for the Republican bid for Congress in the 22nd District.

The final results will not be announced until absentee votes are counted.

2020, we are on our way to knowing who will battle democrat congressman, anthony brindisi, for the 22nd district congressional seat, this november.

Polls are closed and ballots cast, in the republican primary for that seat.

But...they could still be received by local boards of election and counted up til june 30th...as long as they're postmarked by today.

Tonight's results are a combination of in-person votes and early voting ballots.

You remember two years ago, this was a hotly contested and highly coveted seat.

Millions were spent, trying to win it.

Tonight will go a long way in determining who will duke it out for the 22nd district congressional seat, come november.

Binghamton history teacher, george phillips, voted at the endwell fire department, in broome county, today.

He's feeling pretty good about all those absentee ballots that are out there.

Republican claudia tenney wants to take back the seat from democrat congressman anthony brindisi.

She voted at st.

George orthodox church, in new hartford, this morning.

And she's feeling pretty positive, herself.

I'm pretty confident about it.

But we now need to go on to a general election.

If we're down even by several thousand votes, we think we're still in the game because there's so many absentees out, it may be somewhere near 40/50% of the votes cast in the election are gonna be absentee"
