The state attorney general and republican leadership in the state legislature didn't waste any time criticizing the governor's mask mandate.

The courier-journal reports...in a joint letter to the governor...attorney general daniel cameron, senate president robert stivers, and house speaker david osborne called the governor's move an "order by edict rather than through collaboration."

The letter goes on to say... "instead, you have unilaterally imposed arbitrary and overbroad orders."

Adding later.... "as you say, we are all in this together.

We trust the citizens of this commonwealth to make responsible decisions to protect themselves and their neighbors."

As governor andy beshear's mandatory face mask order takes effect tomorrow.... the governor's office is also now preparing to appeal a scott county circuit court ruling on a lawsuit today..

Which granted a temporary restraining order for agri-tourism businesses against the governor's coronavirus restictions.

Attorney general cameron joined the lawsuit last week.

It was filed by agriculture commissioner ryan quarles and evans orchard and cider mill, an agritourism business in georgetown.

Governor beshear reacted to the ruling during his briefing earlier today.

Gov andy beshear "38:37 this shoudln't be political, and it all seems to be, the ag in kentucky is the only ag in the country suing their gover over these restictions thst we got to move past it, i'm goint ot continue do what it take, he put in that order todya, we're doing the mask mandate todya.

38:53 the temporary restraining order issued by the judge today...would apply to kentuckys 548 agritourism businesses.
