Sangertown Square officially reopened Friday after shutting down in March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Sangertown square mall reopened its doors today.

The shopping center was shut down for about 4 months due to the pandemic.

News channel 2's brent kearney spoke to business owners and shoppers about how it feels to be back- with the new rules.

Sicilian delight manager nicholas crocilla is excited to begin serving customers at the mall .

None "we've been missing the work, we've been missing our loyal customers.

We have people that come to the mall just for our pizza.

It means alot to us that we're able to serve them again."

From his vantage point, he can see the changes made to the mall.

Customers now required to wear masks and markers on the floor showing people where to walk.

But crocilla says the food court's transition to takeout only is what affects his business the most.

"we are normally a dine in restaraunt, but we are offering delivery and curbside pickup."

"due to the state's last minute decision to allow malls to reopen, much of these stores remain closed."

(cover) "its not been easy for sure, but we've held our own.

Rainbow zen owner david etsen says the reason some of his neighboring stores didnt open , was some of the stores couldn't get their current employees back in time "that is something that they will be facing within the next month no doubt."

"we've only lost a few but that's certainly going to be an issue for sure."

Despite the missing stores, shoppers were excited to be back at the mall.

"i'm excited, ran out of my soaps and resume their normal lives.

It feels good."

Seeing things that obivously i havent gotten to in a long time.

The mall is open monday through saturday between 11am and 7pm and on sundays from 11 to 6.
