School officials in butte county and glenn tell me it's definitely a possibility.

The glenn county office of education isn't sure if students will return to the classroom - let alone when.

Two days ago, we knew what everybody was doing.

However, they're calling us asking can we take another look at this and of course they can... tracey quarne oversees 8 school districts.

Two days ago, he says most--- planned to return to campus in the fall.

But with the recent spike in coronavirus cases, school leaders are rethinking their decision... now its the heavy decision.

Are we going to do distance, are we doing a blend, exactly what are each of you eight districts going to do.

They can all do their own thing... what works in one district may not work in the other... while glenn county heads to the drawing board, chico unified school district says its ready for a decision to be made.

So this wednesday when we meet with the board we will be asking the board to adopt a model for reopening and that model can range from traditional school as we knew it to pre covid with some heavy safety measures in place.... ... alternating days and times, online learning, blended and more.

Cusd superintendent kelley staley says sanitation, ppe, health screening and social distancing are in all models... at the end of the day we are here to educate our students and provide the best environment that we can for them and with the conditions constatnly changing we have to be flexible and we need to get a variety of options to make sure we meet the needs for our kids and parents the board of education will decide a model for chico unified school district tomorrow night.

As for glenn county, the superintendent says he hopes to have decisions made by the end of next week.
