If you are planning to dine in there's several things things you can do to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19.

Spread of covid-19.

To dine in or to not dine in during the pandemic... while some restaurants are takeout only others are providing the option for dining in and outside.

Fox 55'sjentill neal tells us what restaurants are doing to minimize exposure risk.

Jentill?hunter, i went to hoppy gnome and the copper spoon.

All the staff are wearing mask, but not all the customers.

I was able to talk to management and staff about the adjustments they've had to make to ensure their safety as well as customers.

Preston wallace is on the front lines serving customers at the copper spoon.

And while it's nice to have some sort of normalcy and a paycheck ... the pandemic is on his mind.> 20:01:40-20:01:55"we've gotten a mix of people that've come in.

Some people come in with a masks, obviously you take it off when you're drinking and eating a such, but i would say majority of the people coming through our doors probably aren't wearing masks."

On top of the staff wearing masks ... they also maintain social distancing and monitor the number of people inside.

Wallace says it's been going well for the most part, but even working he's taking a risk.20:02: 49-20:03:09 "there's a lot of uncertainty now kind of lingering over this industry and the world as we know it.

It's been a huge transition in what we do on a day to day basis so i'd be lying if i said i wasn't nervous from time to time.

Trying to provide that normalcy and hospitality for the fort wayne community has kept us going."the cdc says restaurants who haven't limited the number of seating or distanced tables present a higher risk.

It recommends choosing outdoor seating and making sure tables are 6 feet apart, michelle and morris fox say they thought about that when making the decision to come to the hoppy gnome.> 19:49:09-19:49:25"i feel like it's a little safer outside possibly.

We wear our masks whereever we go inside and then depending on the situation, we were able to eat outside.

It was perfect.

We came out here and then we took them off."the foxes though seem to be the exception.

> 19:46:10-19:46:22"for us as a staff, we definitely get excited when we see a customer with a mask on, that means they are taking it as serious as we are."schuey says online ordering is available now for customers compared to last year when it didn't exist.

He says there's been an uptick in that option since they also provide free delivery.

> 19:43:25-19:43:34"it's something we initially did when we shut down, and we just kept with it just as an added service for those guest who don't want to go out and dine."

The cdc says takeout is still the safest option out of the three between dining in or dining outdoorsreporting live jentill neal... fox
