Joseph bardaville owns?cup of jo?

At the end of jackson street.

He is just one of the many business owners in downtown roseburg who loves where they work.

00:08 joseph bardaville, owner, cup of joe: wee like a small family of sorts.

There a group of us that interact and support one another?

00:12 evita: although joe says he adores downtown roseburg the way it is, he says it could use some updating.

He says it could help bring more people to the area... and customers to his shop??it would been nice to see all the store fronts all filled up.

Cause right now it kind of sad.

It pockets?

And that exactly what the roseburg town center is all about.

They are the organization that leads beautification projects in downtown.

They had projects planned& but they are on hold due to the pandemic.

00:39 susie johnston-forte, executive director, roseburg town center:?there were a couple of facades of businesses downtown that we were planning on applying for grant funding to improve?

Executive director susie johnston forte says they were hoping to get funding from the oregon main street revilization grant.

The grant normally gives out 5 million dollars to organizations each year.

But a drop in lottery funds due to covid-19 has eliminated that grant& now, johnston forte says they can apply.?we have to regroup and repurpose our mission on where we go with covid in mind?

Johnston forte says they don have the money to fund the projects themselves& so theye waiting until the grants become avaiable again.

Until then& she says theye doing what they can to help out small businesses owners& like bardaville.

"they bring attention to this end of jackson street.

Cause this end sort of gets lost alot of the time."
