Kanye West Files to Appear on New Jersey's Presidential Ballot According to 'New York Post,' West collected 1,327 signatures by Monday's deadline to file to appear on the state's ballot as an independent presidential candidate.

He also reportedly submitted paperwork on the same day to appear on Missouri's ballot.

Sources say West is attempting to get on the ballot in New York as well.

He'll need 30,000 signatures by Thursday to qualify.

Earlier this month, West also took measures to appear on Oklahoma's ballot.

The 43-year-old rapper announced he was running for president on July 4 via Twitter.

Lately, West's political aspirations have been overshadowed by his bipolar disorder.

He has made several troubling tweets and claims, and his marriage to Kim Kardashian is reportedly on the rocks as a result.
