Coronavirus Cases Confirmed Ahead of Senior Year

Some parents are worried it's just a preview of what will happen when students return to the classroom.

Waay 31's max cohan talked to one parent who thinks the district may want to rethink extracurricular activities.

"with a handful of cases in the past two weeks, and two individuals associated with the huntsville high school football team testing positive, one district parent told me there's no reason to be playing sports right now."

Benjamin shapiro has two kids in huntsville city schools.

He says he understands the districts intentions and believes sports would not be played if they didn't potentially impact scholarships.

"you know, they need the sports, they need the confidence building that it includes, but there's theater kids out there who can't do theater because of coronavirus, so why should the sports kids and everybody else be able to do it even though there's an inherent danger in all of that."
