It's the relay for life of freeborn county.

Kimt news 3's annalise johnson is speaking to one of the event's honorary survivors.

Xxx it's a challenge sally skrlin knows first hand... while working as a medical technologist studying cancer specimens ?

"* she was diagnosed with the disease for the first time in 2005.

That's when she and her family got involved with relay for life.

Since then ?

"* she has survived three different unrelated cancer diagnoses.

Last spring marked one year of being cancer free.

She received help from the american cancer society ?

"* and now she gives back.

"you just need to reach out to them.

I had somebody that called me and said what can we do for you?

Are you doing ok with your gas money, mileage?
