The Locker Room Game of the Week Preview: Homestead vs. Northrop

Hey good evening everyone..

Well over the last several weeks, we've seen states all over the country postpone or cancel their high school football seasons..but here in indiana, they will give the friday night lights a go this fall, and all the fun starts tomorrow... and with the return of high school football comes the return of the locker room..

Petar hood gets you ready for our first show of the season with a look at homestead vs.

Northrop in our game of the week preview... petar hood: yeah prince, it may be in the mid-80's right now, but it feels like christmas eve to high school football players, coaches and fans all across the state.

That's because, after all the stress and uncertianty that's gone into the last few months, it's finally time to play some pigskin.narr: and we've got an intriguing matchup in our game of the week.

Northrop is coming off its best season since 2006, while homestead is fresh off the program's first s-a-c championship.

But both teams have some big shoes to fill on both sides of the ball, and they're excited to see how they stack up against one another in week one... brady parker: "i feel like we're still the underdogs.

Just because we won the sac championship last year doesn't mean anything.

It's a new year, new team, and i feel like we can't take any opponent lightly.

We have a target on our back, and they got a target on their back.

We've got to come out every friday looking to beat the team we play."braeden hardwick: "we're really excited.

This summer we've been working hard, getting ready, because we lost a lot of good players last year, so we knew we had to step it up and fill in those spots, so we were working really hard.

We're really excited to face someone not in blue and gold, so we're really excited.

Hopefully it's a good game."

Chad zolman: "they've prepared well.

They've done everything we've asked them to, so i feel good.

We have to play really well to win.

The team we're playing is a talented group and they're well coached, so our kids know that and they're expecting a fight."jason doerffler: "we beat every team in the league with the exception of snider, dwenger and homestead over the last two years.

We feel like in order to take the next step, we've got to beat the big boys.

Homestead is the defending conference champion, and obviously they're good, so that's the challenge and i think our guys are up to it."

Kareem freeman: "i feel like we all gonna have to play as a team, and work together, and keep the energy up.

We're very excited.

We've been preparing.

I feel like we could bring a win home."devin mccalla: "we think we can win.

We really think we can hang with them.

We think in the end, if we play together, if we play tough, we can take the victory."petar hood: kickoff here at homestead is set for 7 p.m.

Of course we'll have highlights from this game and many more in our first locker room of the 2020-21 season.
