The man accused of shooting at drivers along the I-5 corridor between Roseburg and Medford did so from the cab of his UPS truck, according to investigators.

A rosenburg man faces criminal charges today for summer vehicle shootings on i-5 49-year-old kenneth ayers is in the jackson county jail -- held on a million-dollar bond.

Police arrested him after a woman was shot wednesday night while driving on i-5 between central point and gold hill.

The rosenburg man faces eight charges -- including attempted murder, assault and weapons charges.

Ayers is a suspect in at following this story throughout the past few weeks and was in the courtroom today when ayers was read his charges.

Newswatch 12's brett taylor joins us now live in-studio with but one of the more unusal things that i leanred from oregon state police today was that ayers was a u-p-s employee.

O-s-p says that they believe that ayers has been shooting at vehicles while driving up and down i-5 in his u-p-s truck.

O-s-p said that they arrested ayers last night - around 11 p-m -- in roseburg.

After the arrest..

Police found a gun ayer's u-p-s truck that police say is linked to the other shootings on i-5.

""we are appalled to hear about these allegations and are fully cooperating with the responding authorities.
