The big 8 collapsed..

And we now have a big pocket athletic conference.

Two divisions..

Based off of enrollment.

Boonville..

Gibson southern..

Heritage hills..

Mt.

Vernon..

Princeton..

And washington make up the big school division..

While forest park..

North posey..

Pike central..

South spencer..

Southridge..

And tell city make up the small school division.

And each division will have their separate champion.

So lets start with the big division.

Heritage hills made it all the way to lucas oil stadium but came up one win short of a state title.

They begin their 2020 campaign against mt.

Vernon..

The wildcats with a new head coach in luke messmer.

Early in the third quarter..

Patriots driving..

Jacob schmidt drops back but is sacked by dalton schmidt.

Next drive..

Mt.

Vernon's brady hook runs up the gut for a big first down!

A few plays later..

Luke hoehn throws it up for grabs and who comes down with it?

Jaden wilson of the wildcats for a huge twenty five yard gain.

Same drive hook takes it up the middle again for a massive score to put the wildcats up 7-6 over the patriots in the jungle!

Mount vernon with the huge upset 24-14!

In the newly reconstructed pocket conference... princeton takes on forest park.

First quarter..

Tigers trying to get the offense going... but here comes the ranger defense.

Kaden bowmen relentless on the attack and records the sack.

First possession for forest park comes shortly after.

And the rangers get to work.

Trey toby takes it to his left... races for a first down.

And the rangers still keep the ground game to finish off the drive.

Jake begle pounds his way into the endzone.

Visitors strike first.

Princeton looking to respond.

Christian schafer keeps it himself racing down the sideline for a first down and then some.

But the tigers would come away with no points.

Later in the quarter... the visitors continue to thrive on defense.

A princeton miscue leads to a loose ball.

The big fella caleb moya falls on it.

Rangers add on and they never look back.

Forest park opens the season with a win, 20-7.

North posey has won 6 in row against south spencer.

The rebels look to halt that streak as the open up with the vikings.

Unfortunately zebras were the only mascots on the field ... as lightning delays repeatedly held up the start of the game ... at last check this one is in a lightening delay.

And our final game of the evening features southridge facing a non conference opponent.

The raiders topped linton- stockton by 8 in last years opener.

Southridge comes out rolling on offense in this one ... on the flying feet of camden gasser ... who lives up to his surname... blazing for 26 yards on the raiders opening drive of the game.

He follows that up with another sweep ... this time for 13 yards ... getting southridge into linton-stockton territory.

The raiders get inside the red zone ... but on 4th and 7 ... they roll the dice ... and quarterback chase taylor comes up snake eyes getting picked off at the goal line.

But if the miners defense was opportunistic ... the raiders "d" was suffocating... shutting down linton- stockton... and after a scoreless first half ... the southridge offense explodes ... as they win 28-0.

And gibson southern falls to columbus north by the same score.

And to round things out..

Tell city opens with a win over perry central 35-0 and pike central hosts brown county... the chargers fall 39-28.
