Several groups were a part of the committee involved with choosing the body cams for the police department.

One of those groups...chang e of terre haute.

We spoke with the president erick beverly.

He says being a part of a big decision like this helps grow the relationship between police and the community.

The police department will be getting body and dashboard cameras.

They're from the company called utility body worn.

The cameras have many features... they activate if an officer is running...and can send alerts if an officer needs help.

Beverly says this is good to see the police department work with the community.

After numerous protest about police brutality against black people...beverly says this is taking the next step in creating change.
