George and katie... this coalition is all about outreach.

It's called the local complete count committee.

It was formed about a year ago between olmsted county... and united way of olmsted county.

Now they've been working to make sure as many people as possible are getting counted locally.

They weren't getting as many responses as they hoped for from downtown rochester ?

"* so they turned to the rochester downtown alliance for "we thought that bringing the rochester downtown alliance in was going to be great since they have relationships with apartment buildings down there, and businesses that would be able to hand out information to the residents living in downtown."

And this is no small thing... pesch tells me every time someone fills out a census form in olmsted county... local agencies get about two?

"* thousand?

"* dollars in federal funding.

So if you want to help your community... filling out the census is a very good place to start.
