50 percent of people in mississippi are wearing their mask.

The study is from the university of washington's institute for health metrics and evaluation.

The study says that face coverings, hand washing, and avoiding crowds helped reduced the cases of coronavirus.

Researchers concluded that about 12 states are now seeing mask usage rates above 50% including mississippi.

We spoke to some residents in tupelo and asked them how they felt about mask.

Tui poutoa we spoke to some people who didnt want to be on tv, they said that the mask are uncomfortable and didnt see the purpose.

A mask mandate was established and ends on september 30th.
