Councilman daron lee is resigning from his post one seat ... effective october 30th.

Lee submitted his letter of resignation monday.

In the letter he says ... he prayed and meditated on this decision... and weighed the pros and cons.

The city of warner robins has not released any information related to the special election... just yet.

The bibb county board of elections reported more than 17 hundred voters on the first day of early voting.

872 voters cast an early ballot at the board of elections main office on pio nono avenue.

387 voters participated in early voting at the elaine lucas senior center.

And 497 voters voted early in north macon.

...and voters in bibb county waited up to 3 hours to cast their ballots on the first day of early voting.

But day two of early voting was different.

Lines were much shorter and the average wait time to cast a ballot was 45 minutes.

The bibb county board of elections expects to cast close to the same number of ballots as they did on day one.

Macon-bibb elections supervisor jeanetta watson says she was happy to see the same enthusiasm from voters on day 2.

"day two has been just as busy, i thought it would take a little longer for them to get used to the additional early voting sites but we're busy at all three places.

Don't be discouraged, come on out, get in line.

Just be patient with us because we're trying to work to process these voters with so many others coming through the system at the same time."

Early voting in bibb county will continue at the board of elections office, the elaine lucas senior center and theron ussery park until october 30.

Voters must bring a photo i-d.

Polling locations also ask those who requested an absentee ballot to bring it if they want to vote in person instead.

I'm happy today that we are on board with all that business partners including the chamber of commerce in the industrial authority to try to reach this next level for our community, these are good-paying jobs and we want our students to get those jobs.

The transition team is a group of 31 community leaders appointed by miller, to plan for a successful and effective administration.
