Despite concerns about the coronavirus, and the governor issuing restrictions for Lee County, the Tupelo Fair will kick off Friday.

I'm outside of the bancorpsouth arena where the fair coordinator shared how he and his team plans to keep people safe.

"the end goal is to put on this giant fair, this big fair and do it in the best way and in a way that works for everybody."

Coordinator, phillip downing, said the tueplo fair will look a little different this year.

Downing said he will require face coverings.

Workers are putting hand sanitizer stations throughout the parking lot.

He also said medics will be there just in case someone gets sick.

Stand up: and those aren't the only precautions.

Downing said they are moving the fair to a different area this year.

Vo: the new locations is larger.

Downing said they can now spread the rides farther apart and make sure people are socially distancing.

Phillip downing- tupelo fair coordinator trt: 10 workers will allow up to 3000 people in the fair at a time.

Downing said employees will be able to monitor how many people come in at the entrance.
