Hello I'm Shelley hargens and I'm running for a seat on the Corning City Council I've lived and worked in Corning for 35 years and my husband and I have raised our family here we are currently prep business owners in the city of Corning and I've worked 17 years with the public while working in the billing department at one of our local Health Care Facilities the town of Corning and surrounding areas have supported our business is 7 years and now I'd like a chance to give back I feel the need to get involved in the decision-making of our town and I want to backup my opinions and suggestions and get to work I would love to see more businesses grow here in Corning it's about to happen we need to focus more on the downtown area and make it more appealing to people wanting to choose Corning as a home and it's a place to start their businesses the owners of the downtown buildings need to be held responsible for the upkeep of the buildings as many live out of the area and of course out of sight out of mind I fully support our law enforcement and fire departments and think they are doing an outstanding job and appreciate them I'd love to be part of a better Corning and that requires some changes I will listen be honest and balanced and will speak up when I agree or disagree I would like to be a voice representing a positive change for the citizens of Corning I won't become compliant and I would like to be one of the five and the city council representing Our Town making sound financial decisions and positive changes for a community iseli hargensen I would appreciate your vote on November 3rd
